      Intro to Machine Learning with Python for UVic Libraries' DSC - November 29

      Artificial intelligence is a rapidly evolving field with applications everywhere. Are you a UVic student, staff, or faculty member interested in AI, or do you want to know about how to break into AI? This workshop will introduce you to AI as you learn from superheroes in the AI community. This workshop is designed to help students from all disciplines and all backgrounds who are new to Machine Learning and have no prior coding experience to learn about the basic pipeline of Machine Learning projects in Python and figure out how to make AI relevant to you. Participants will be able to do the following by the end of this orientation: Learn about the latest trends in machine learning and its community Learn about the whole pipeline of the machine learning project Know about how to use Jupyter Notebook for the machine learning project Machine Learning Tutorials for Beginners in Jupyter Notebook Tutorials about Keras frameworks in Jupyter Notebook Build up a deep learning project in the computer vision field No programming skills are required for this workshop; just an interest and/or a desire to learn.
