Responsible Business Forum on Sustainable Development, Africa 2019

THE FUTURE OF INDUSTRY: INNOVATION & INVESTMENT TO CATALYSE AFRICA’S GROWTH Industrialisation in Africa has promised to bring jobs, alleviate poverty and catalyse economic growth across the continent. How can Africa leverage the digital transformation of ‘Industry 4.0’ to enable this growth? Long term investment in technology, innovation in manufacturing and skills development for youth will be critical in accelerating and scaling access to nutritious food, healthcare and affordable housing for all. By adopting ‘Industry 4.0’ technologies, Africa can address its greatest development challenges, including creating decent jobs. The 3rd Responsible Business Forum on Sustainable Development, Africa, co-organised with the United Nations Development Programme, will be held in Nairobi, Kenya and bring together more than 400 international delegates from businesses, government, investors and NGOs to share their vision for Africa’s future. The Forum’s agenda is designed to secure commitments to new partnerships, support the Kenyan Government’s Big Four development plan, align with the African Union’s Agenda 2063 and bring Africa closer to meeting the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals.
