      National Trails Day

Many people that visit Natural Bridge State Park come just to see the Bridge, but beyond Cedar Creek there are trails and vistas that many visitors won't see. On National Trails Day, join a ranger to explore the wilder reaches of Natural Bridge State Park. At 11 a.m. meet at the for a ranger led hike on Blue Ridge Trail. On this 3.6 mile hike, we'll explore the history and ecology of the local forests and hollows on our way to the highest point of elevation in the park, Red Knob. Rangers will be on hand to explain how the relation of the land to humans has changed over the years, and even how it's changed since becoming a state park. The Blue Ridge trailhead is about a mile north of the Visitor Center on Rt 11, on your left as you head north. Wear weather appropriate clothing and sturdy walking shoes. Bring water and snacks if desired, sunscreen and bug spray is advised. For more information about the park, program or trails, contact that park at (540) 291-1330. ***Location Detail: Blue Ridge trailhead on Route 11
