What is the Ugly Sweater III:
December 2019 heralds the return of the South Burlington Rotary Club’s Ugly Sweater III, a Fun Run and Walk to raise funds for Rotary charity initiatives and provide support to a local non-profit organization or program. This year the South Burlington Rotary is proud to partner with the South Burlington Academic Boosters Fund, a program of the South Burlington School Foundation for Educational Advancement.

When and where is the Ugly Sweater III:
On Sunday, December 8, 2019, up to 200 runners (along with friends and family) will gather at the Fredrick H. Tuttle Middle School proudly wearing their tackiest, craziest and ugliest sweaters for the Ugly Sweater III 5K run or 2.5K walk. Registration opens at 10am and the run/walk starts at 11am. Local judges will award prizes in a variety of categories starting at noon. Food, non-alcoholic beverages and family friendly activities are provided for all! Entrance fee is only $35 for adults 18+; $15 for youth age 12-17 and free for kids under 12 years old. Each (human) participant receives a commemorative knit hat and photo.

Who is our 2019 non-profit partner?
The South Burlington Academic Boosters Fund, an arm of the South Burlington Schools’ Foundation for Educational Advancement, awards mini grants to students and teachers who seek to engage in extended learning opportunities. The grants focus on outreach, enrichment, innovation and development of the whole student, with priority given to initiatives that impact a large number of students. For example, the Academic Boosters Fund will help to launch a guest speaker pilot program designed to assist seniors with post-secondary planning and life-planning for after high school.

Special Thanks to Mascoma Bank and Northfield Savings Bank and many other local companies for their support this year..
