The Crooked Road Concert Tour Presents an Evening of Bluegrass

The Shenandoah Music Trail is hosting an evening of the Crooked Road Concert Tour featuring the Loose Strings Band and the old-time music of Erynn Marshall & Carl Jones.
The concerts will be held at the Old Country Church in West View as part of the Shenandoah Music Trails’ Last Saturday Concert Series. Don DePoy, the Music Trail Executive Director exclaims, “We are excited to bring the Crooked Road Concert Tour to Staunton. It’s not often we get to hear such extraordinary talent in our area.”
The Loose Strings Band (LSB) is an all women bluegrass band from Galax, Virginia. The Band is well known in the Blue Ridge Mountains and regionally for their blend of tight vocal harmonies and sweet rhythms. LSB has been together for nine years and were featured performers at Merlefest and the International Bluegrass Music Association Fan Fest and proclaimed “best entertainment” at the Columbus Ohio Travel Expo.
The evening’s program begins with the award-winning duo Erynn Marshall and Carl Jones. Both are old-time musicians and inspired tunesmiths from Galax, Virginia. They present the vibrant history of old-time mountain music through engaging performances. While rooted in the traditional sounds, this duo stays true to their own muse by composing new, tradition-rooted music. Southern song-duets and powerful fiddle, guitar, mandolin, banjo tunes comprise their diverse sets. Yes, they are married - in life and in music.
Along with great music, a selection of snacks, other goodies and refreshments will be available for a small donation. Doors open at 6:00 with the concert starting at 7pm. Advance event tickets are available for $10 each or $12 at the door. Your support is appreciated to help our efforts to make live music possible. This event is sponsored by the Shenandoah Music Trail, a 501(c)(3) all volunteer non-profit corporation promoting and preserving the Valley’s Mountain Music Legacy and the Methodist Church Staunton District. Listeners and pickers are invited to join us every Tuesday evening 6:30 Potluck and 7pm Bluegrass Spirit Jam.
The Old Country Church is located in the historic Village of West View at 1529 Parkersburg Turnpike (Swoope) on Route 254 west 3.5 miles from the Route 262 Staunton by-pass. For more information and advanced tickets call 540-209-3540.
